Born and brought up in Scotland, Joanne Miller completed her undergraduate studies at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama before being awarded the Henry Dixon Scholarship to studyHistorical Performance at the Royal Academy of Music.
Since graduating, Joanne has been working as a freelance player in the UK and Europe. In 2009 she was principal viola with the European Union Baroque Orchestra with whom she performed in many major concert halls around Europe including the Concergebouw in Amsterdam, Bulgaria Hall in Sofia and the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester.
Joanne has played with the London Handel Orchestra, St James’ Baroque and Scottish Opera as well as with chamber ensembles; the Little Baroque Company, Ensemble 430, New Century Baroque and The Rare Theatrical.
