Born in East London, Alice began playing the cello at the age of 7. She gained a music scholarship to Forest School for girls where she had an active role in the musical life of the school. Alice continued her studies at the Junior Guildhall school of Music and Drama before going on to complete her undergraduate studies at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama where she was introduced to the Baroque cello and the world of early music by Simon Jones and Joseph Crouch.
Alice is currently studying on the Masters course at the Royal Academy of Music with Jonathan Manson whilst pursuing a busy freelance and teaching career.
